Calm Schools

What is CALM Schools?

CALM Schools is a division of CALM Youth, launched in early 2022. In the wake of COVID-19, our team witnessed a significant decline in morale and positivity among students, supported by research highlighting the lasting social and emotional impacts of the pandemic on young people. Many students are struggling with disconnection, low motivation, and the added pressures of navigating adolescence in the social media age.

Whether it's academic stress or social transitions, CALM Schools provides the motivation, inspiration, and support young people need to navigate these challenges and reconnect with their sense of purpose and potential.

Our workshops and programs are designed to complement key elements of the education curriculum, particularly around student wellbeing, personal development, respectful relationships, and leadership. We work closely with schools to ensure our content aligns with their priorities and strengthens what’s already being delivered in classrooms.

Motivational Speeches

We understand that schools can be hectic and a five week program isn't always feasible. For a quick injection of motivation and inspiration we offer one-off tailored motivational speeches. We know that no two people are the same let alone two schools. Each school consists of a different demographic of students meaning each school faces unique challenges and issues. Our motivational speeches are all catered to specific needs of each group in attendance.

Connect With Us

No two schools are the same, so we cater all of our offerings to what the school is dealing with. We never give the same program twice.

  • We work with the schools by having an initial consultation to understand the specific needs of the students who will be in attendance.
  • During the consultation, we workshop with the school an appropriate package that works within the budget of the school and benefits the kids in attendance.

Relatability

Our organisation is built on lived experiences—overcoming hardships, challenges, and turning adversity into strength. What sets us apart is that we come from similar age groups, cultural backgrounds, and socio-economic realities as the young people we work with. This shared experience allows us to connect on a real, human level. We speak their language, understand their world, and most importantly, see a bit of ourselves in them—just as we hope they see a bit of themselves in us.

We collaborate with staff beforehand to shape our content in a way that is meaningful, engaging, and relevant. We place a strong emphasis on planning, preparation, and adaptability. Our facilitators bring a wealth of real-life experience, ensuring we always have the right story, example, or message to resonate with any audience.

Energy

Plain and simple, we love what we do. Even before CALM Schools existed, we were speaking in schools and mentoring young people pro bono. The consistent feedback we receive is that our energy is infectious. It’s not something we manufacture—it’s real, and it comes from passion. When you genuinely love what you do, that energy becomes your greatest asset.
